Quiksilver & Roxy Outerwear Performance Fabrics

Quiktech 5000 (5K)

These fabrics are tested to be more than 5,000mm water resistant and are highly breathable, allowing at least 5,000 gr/m2/24h of perspiration to escape from the inside of the garment to the outside. Therefore, these fabrics create a warmer and dryer environment inside the garment because they prevent outside wetness from seeping through while still allowing perspiration to escape from inside so that you can stay dry and avoid wetness, overheating and chill. Garments built with our Quiktech 5000 fabrics also have critically taped seams, meaning the hood, shoulder, and armholes are sealed with waterproof/breathable tape on the jackets and the seat seam, outseam, and inseam are sealed on the pants. Garments constructed in these fabrics are great for weekend warriors, those riding in dry snow conditions like the Rockies, and grooms on a budget.

Quiktech 10,000 (10K)

These fabrics are tested to be water resistant for more than 10,000mm and are highly breathable, allowing at least 10,000 gr/m2/24h of perspiration to escape. These garments eliminate humidity and help you to stay dry by preventing outside wetness from seeping through while still allowing perspiration to escape from inside the garment. Therefore, the 10K technology regulates body temperature and prevents overheating, wetness and freezing. Garments built with our Quiktech 10,000 fabrics also have fully taped seams. For jackets and pants, this means every seam is sealed with waterproof/breathable tape. Tested by mountain resort employees and park diggers throughout the country, garments built in these fabrics are team favorites. The pieces constructed in these fabrics are great for people who spend a lot of time on the mountain, ride in wet conditions like the Northwest and British Columbia, or want the most bang for their buck.

In addition to our Quiktech performance fabrics, we use GORE-TEX® fabrics.

GORE-TEX® brand products Waterproof, Windproof, and Breathable. The GORE-TEX® membrane is micro-porous: the pores are large enough to allow body perspiration (vapor) to escape yet small enough so that the weather (water and wind) can't get in. All GORE-TEX® garments are GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™.

GORE-TEX® and GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™ are registered trademarks of W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc.

Products constructed with GORE-TEX® fabrics have fully sealed seams using GORE-TEX® tape. These products are ideal for everyday use in the most diverse conditions.

All Roxy & Quicksilver Products contain the RECCO® system

RECCO® is an avalanche rescue system utilized worldwide to facilitate the rapid location of burials. The two parts–reflector and detector–enable rapid pinpointing using harmonic radar but are not a substitute for transceiver use. Complementary in function, the RECCO system increases the chance of being found in time.

Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is renewable, non-toxic and biodegradable. The production of commercial cotton is destroying farmland and is poisoning the waterways around the world. It takes approximately two pounds of pesticides to grow one regular, non-organic cotton T-shirt.

Hemp

Hemp is an economical, renewable resource. It is fast growing, taking about 100 - 120 days from planting until it is ready. Hemp, as a rule, does not need pesticides, and requires far less water than cotton during growing.

Non-Toxic Dyes

Most common dyes used in fabrics and textiles/furniture/carpet...etc, are filled with heavy metals that are very harmful to animals, our habitat and mostly humans.

Recycled PETs - Recycled Polyester and Soda Bottles

With 8 out of 10 plastic bottles ending up in landfills, finding economically viable uses for recycling is still a mandate for environmentally sound businesses. All polyester in the new Quiksilver eco-friendly line is created from PET (recycled polyester made from plastic soda bottles.) It reduces the use of other raw materials like petroleum, and cuts down on the process of refining crude oil into synthetic polyesters and nylons, which creates some of the worst types of pollution.

Eddie Nash Foundation

Quiksilver Wintersports is proud to donate a portion of the sales from its eco-friendly program to the ENF. The Eddie Nash Foundation is a non-profit organization with a mission committed to working on creating an enlightened world without violence, by breaking the cycle of hate resulting from abuse, prejudice and all forms of violence affecting our youth.
